Today is sponsored by "D" as diarrhea. Fortunately - diarrhea is over now. It's interesting how the illness and sickness can change the way how you perceive world. The man with stomach's pain, nausea and fever will see only bad side of his surroundings - like potholes, noise, trash on the streets, too many cars, too big traffic, a lot of poverty and so on.
But the diarrhea is over now and the Sun came in. The Sun - so desired by the white people from rich countries, here, in Dominican Republic - is something normal and casual. Daily life. It sets the rhytme of the life, that sometimes circulates only around the running fanin the room. Too hot to actually do something. So hot. Shadow is a blessing. No-moves are blessing. Being in hurry will make you tired very quick..So relax. And do nothing. Tranquillo senor, tranquuuuuuillllllo. If not today, then tomorrow, what is the problem ? Manana is also a day. Why concentrate supplies/ reserves for the winter when - there is no winter....? Why think about the future at all ?

Something to think about - how many of the so called developing countries are located in the tropical and subtropical climate ? How many "warm" countries in EU have financial troubles ? Italy ? Greece ? Spain ? Portugal ? You name it....
The only rich, regulated and tropical country that comes to my mind is Singapur. But anyway - this country is so small that it's possible to do everything on such small space...There are also: Kuweit (oil and small terrain) and Australia (anglosaxon culture and most of the people living at the seaside, English speaking country being ally of the other English-speaking countries like US and UK)... That's all what comes to my mind. It's time to get laundry from lavanderia. Let's see how they did it....
So this is the place where I was living in Santiago...
Next day....
So I finally found what I was looking for here. School of spanish and my room in this city ! I moved in to live with dominican family. Old lady, her son and me - in my private room. It costs 6,000 pesos/ month (around 140 usd), but the room is big, decent, quiet and it has internet. Laundry included in the price. However, as I found out later - these 6000 pesos/ month is actually nothing special when it goes to rent a room in Santiago. And it is actually something expensive. But I dont care. The school is near, there is internet access..And there is safe and quiet. All that I need as for now.
So tomorrow I'm starting Spanish school. Not private lessons, but normal activites in the class of 15 people. I will be the only white person in the class, as the other students are from Haiti...Near the school building ? Almost slums, trash and waste dump and kids running around it. Typical 3rd world images...
